Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 196: Your Purpose

Genesis 41:39-40
And Pharaoh said until Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art;

Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater.

Happy New Year :)

I hope 2012 has been kind to you so far (about 10 hours in my time lol)

Today, God thought we needed to know about being patient (again).

Joseph's road to ruler wasn't a pretty one or a swift one.  He went from favorite son, to slave, to accused rapist, to prisoner, to ruler.  Poor feller!!

It wasn't like it all happened in a day or a month either. It happened over a length of time (I'm not sure how long, but I dare say it wasn't over night).

God placed Joseph in each of those circumstances so the next would be available.  *IF* this didn't happen *THEN* that wouldn't have.

I might have been a 'WHY GOD?' ("Woe is me") type.  I probably would have wondered why God had abandoned me.. when in REALITY he was setting something grand up that I could never have imagined for myself.

If you have no idea why you are where you are in life, God does.  He didn't forget about you and just put you willy-nilly anywhere as a placeholder for the *really important* people.  YOU ARE the very important people.  You were made for a purpose.

DON'T GIVE UP UNTIL YOU FIND IT...

Joseph could have given up many of times, but God put him exactly where he needed to be (not wanted to be).

Wait on God.  Listen and be willing to go where HE puts you.. which I know is hard.  If you are like me, you have everything 'mapped out'.  It's ok to have a goal... but don't get upset if God changes it.

God Bless You and have a happy and blessed 2012!

  2. My patience is overloaded at times too lol. I know we can do this together :) We just have to pray for each other to get through one day/one 'aggravation' at a time :) :)
