Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 209: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

James 1:16-17
Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
***********
Bad things come from God; Good things are man-made.
Right?
Yeah, not really, but if you watch any of the news that's what you see......
Wild fires?
Blame God
Hurricanes?
Blame God
Ending a war?
Praise Humans
Winning a game?
Praise Humans
Sick person getting better?
Praise Humans
Sick person dying?
Blame God
I kinda think we have things confused a bit.
EVERYTHING, good, bad, ugly, beautiful, comes from God. Don't for a second think that the good things that come aren't brought by God.
He rarely gets thanked for the Good.... just blamed for the Bad.
How about thanking him today for the good you see?  It makes your day start on a postive note :)
God Bless You :)

  2. Thank you voor deze This blog, which makes people think about it. It is the reality that God is often blamed ... Secretly, we sometimes blame also Him. Until we see Him as He is: Amazing Grace.

I will thank Him this day for His patience with me, the smile of my son, my daughter - her arm through mine, for the warm fire and for His presence during trials.

  4. Great post. Yes, we are to always thank God. "...in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18. Good reminder.
