John 14:27
"I am leaving you with a gift-- peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give you is a gift the world cannot give. So don't be troubled or afraid.

If you wait for the world to make you happy, you will be miserable all of your life.
You will wait for the next big 'excitement' or 'yay you' or whatever it is that makes you 'happy' in the world-- and you will be happy for a few minutes, days even. But the joy will fade in a few days... a few minutes even.
Jesus' peace is different-- if you let it be. If you truly believe that He is in control of everything, you won't be troubled or afraid because, as the picture going around facebook says, "I've (Jesus) got this.
Don't look to the world to make you happy. The world is full of imperfect people. Look to the One who is perfect.

yes, and i've seen a t-shirt with that on it! love it. such a great reminder that it is not we who are in control, but Him. and we can rest in peace knowing that.

HI kelly - this is a lovely post. Waiting for the world of for someone or something to make you happy is a real waste of time and a great disappointment. Great reminder that only the peace of God is worth seeking for.
