Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 229: Where is God?

Job 23:2-3
"My complaint today is still a bitter one, and I try hard not to groan aloud. If only I knew where to find God, I would lay out my case and present my arguments...."

**************

We are like Job sometimes--- we look for God.

If only we knew were to find Him, to physicall talk to Him... *maybe* we could plead our case. Maybe we wouldn't feel like we were talking to air or on a one-sided conversation.

In our hearts and in our minds, we know where to find God. We know that He's always there, and always listens to our prayers-- even if we don't see Him or notice his answers right away.

We have faith that He's there since we can't physically see Him.....

Sometimes, it would be easier to actually see Him-- but then where would our faith be?  Anyone can believe in something they see. I believe in trees because I can see one outside of my window. It's harder to believe in Big Foot.

My kids believe in God-- and they've never seen Him. They know if they want to talk to Him, all they have to do is close their eyes and pray. They have never questioned it. (They also believe in Santa-- but they've *seen* him.)

Job wanted to find God so he could plead his case. We can find God anywhere at any time. Sometimes we can't find the words to say, and sometimes we feel farther away than others, but we know He's always there-- ready to hear from us.

God Bless You

~Kelly

  1. Kelly, God is always there, and when we speak to Him it is never just a one-sided conversation. The problem is that too often we don't take the time to listen for His Voice, but He is always with us, and speaking to our hearts.

    Many blessings sweet friend!

  2. Totally.. there are times, though, that He seems so far away (even when he's not). Sometimes it's hard to find the words to pray. And sometimes, we are too stubborn to hear ;)

  3. Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
