Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

"Lord, send someone else" (Day 18/365)

Day 18: Exodus 4-6

Main People:
Moses, Aaron, Hebrews

Key Points:
*I liked this reading. Moses seemed VERY human in it!

*Lot’s of “What ifs” on Moses’ part

*Moses pleaded with God to send someone else because he wasn’t a good speaker. God told him He’d be with him, and sent Aaron to help him.

*Moses had been gone a long time and everyone who had wanted him dead had died themselves.

Verses that Jumped Out at Me:
4:11-13—LORD, send anyone else! (That’s our Motto sometimes…)

6:12—Moses was upset because God wanted him to talk to Pharaoh again. He told God that he couldn’t even get his own people to listen to him. We have that problem today. How can we get new people in the church, if the ‘old’ people don’t show up? Or if the ‘old’ people are just content to be seat fillers, not trying to bring new people in?

Question:
Have you ever begged God to “Send someone else”? Would you care to share your experience?

Tomorrow’s Reading: Exodus 7-9

  1. I don't have the problem of send someone else, but I definitely have the problem of feeling ill-equiped to go. I have to keep reminding myself that when God calls, He equips.
