Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 98: s song to stick in your head

Psalm 84:10
A single day in your courts
is better than a thousand anywhere else!
I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God
than live the good life in the homes of the wicked.

**************************

Life here on Earth is a short thing.

Even if we live to be 102, it is still a drop in the bucket of 'eternity'.

The Psalmist here is saying that he would rather spend just one day with God, than a thousand anywhere else.  One day with God meant that much to Him.

Then he said that he would just like to be the gatekeeper of God's house than live in a mansion with the wicked.

I've heard people say before that they don't care if they have to sleep in a box by the river in Heaven as long as they were there.  I'm kinda that way.  I don't have to have a mansion. I don't have to have anything really. I just want to make it through those Pearly Gates.  Knowing me, I'll be sweating bullets trying to think of all the things I 'may' have done wrong before I have to see St. Peter-- Getting ready for the 'exam' as it were lol.

I'll be happy just to be there-- I'd be the gatekeeper or the shoe shine girl.  Not that I think God would do that to me, but I would gladly be ok with it if He did.

It is better to be the lowliest person in Heaven as the Top man in Hell.

Do you ever think about Heaven?  What will it look like?  What will it be like?  I know, I'm the one that doesn't like talking about Heaven and dying, but sometimes I do start wondering.

I'm sure our little minds can't even imagine it.  Some how, I don't suspect it will be as white as they made it out on 'Bill and Teds Bogus Journey' ;).... but I could be wrong...

AND because I KNOW it got stuck in  your head after you read today's verse--- here ya go....

Now the song can get stuck in your head... which isn't entirely a bad thing ;)

God Bless you!  Happy Sunday.
