Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

Day 93: It's Ok To be Happy

Psalm 92:4
You thrill me, Lord, with all you have done for me!
I sing for joy because of what you have done.

***************

Lets get this point out of the way first......

It is OK to be happy!

Sometimes, we feel guilty for being happy...

Do you ever feel like that?

Like someone you know is going through a hard time, but something good is happening to you-- we (or I) sometimes feel bad by being happy for the good things happening to ourselves.

It is great to feel empathy for people.  We should always empathize with others and the situations in their lives.  But that doesn't mean that we can't be happy with things going on with us-- with the blessings we have.

I remember after Sept. 11, 2001, one of the big questions was, "When it is ok to be happy again?"  Babies were being born.  People were getting married.  Women were getting postive pregnancy tests.  Men were getting cured of cancer.  *GOOD* things were still happening, but people felt a bit uneasy about being happy because of what had happened to the country.

God wants us to feel for the ones who are facing difficulties-- but He also wants us to have joy.

And if something is happening in your own life, and you don't know if it is 'ok' to be happy-- just know that it is.  It is good to laugh.  It is good to watch a funny movie or laugh at a joke.

It is OK to be happy :)

God Bless You :)
