Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

Day 87: Happiness at/in Work

Ecclesiastes 3:9-13
What do people really get for all their hard work? I have seen the burden God has placed on us all.
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time.  He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end.  So I conclude there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can.
And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of labor, for these are gifts from God.

**********************************

One of the biggest disappointments in the world is when you have worked really hard on something and it either doesn't work, doesn't take off, or isn't what *you* thought it should be.  It's very hard.

If God has placed a burden on you, don't get caught up in how many people you are affecting, how big (or how little) your ministry is to others-- Your job is just to be obedient to God. And like the verse, we can't see the big picture.  God knows better than we do--- as much as we try to deny it at times.

No matter what, we need to be happy and enjoy life as long as we can.  That doesn't mean that we can blow off all of our responsibilities-- don't work--- don't take care of our families-- just rest, relax, and chill for the rest of our days.  No, that means that no matter what we do, we should do it happily and enjoy ourselves while we do it.  We won't get today back, so we need to enjoy it.  Responsibilities and all :)

God blesses us by the fruits of our labor. No matter what our labor is, if we do it joyfully and for Him (even working at our job) He will reward us.  We will "eat and drink" the gifts God gives us.  Be it money, satisfaction, the ability to talk to others about Him, joy in helping other, etc.  God will bless us with what He knows we need.

Lets make it a point to be happy today.  We will only have this day once. :)

God Bless You :)

Kelly

  1. We are to do everything as working unto Him. We will be blessed if we remember to do that. Great encouragement!

  2. It would be good if we all remembered that. It is hard sometimes though. Life would be easier if we were just-- happy.

    Thanks Lisa :)
