Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

Day 86: The Mustard Seed

Matthew 17:20

New Living Translation (NLT)
20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

***************************************

I, personally, have never moved an actual, physical, green, wide, and imposing mountain lol. Nor have I ever seen a physical mountain move.

But how cool would that be?!

To have that much faith-- not have any doubts-- and do something that seems impossible.

Jesus said we could.  He said if we had just a tiny amount of faith, we could move a mountain.

And not just a physical mountain-- but an emotional, physical, mental one.
We all have mountains in our lives.  Some mountains we have been able to move through prayer and committment to God.  Some, we haven't--despite our best efforts.

The point is, don't give up!

No matter what your mountain is, keep praying, keep believing, and Jesus said it can be moved. It doesn't mean that it will move abruptly (or even the way we think it will)... but it will move.. .as long as we have the  faith.

If you are struggling with 'faith', that's ok.  I think we all struggle at times.  It's definitely something to pray about-- and don't be shy.  Have others pray for you.  Email me or leave a comment and I'll pray for you (ohthatmomagain@yahoo.com

I could definitely use some prayer in this respect myself.
Jesus never said that it wouldn't be impossible to have enough faith-- just that if you did NOTHING would be impossible...

Wow!

:)

God Bless You :)

  2. Thanks, Kelly. I actually have a couple mountains that need to be moved right now and needed the boost to keep believing. Sometimes it takes so long for them to budge that we can lose hope of the actually moving.

  4. I want that kind of faith too. Faith that says I believe God is working even when I can't see the mountain moving. I once heard someone say that we must keep believing because we can't see what God is doing on the other side of the mountain. Great post, Kelly!

  6. Carrie, I really like it too. Thanks for letting me know this encouraged you :)

Lisa, wouldn't that kind of faith be awesome :) I love that-- we have no idea what God is doing on the other side of the mountain.

Heidi, nope, you are right-- we can't make it without him :)

Shanda, that's right. Jesus never said that the mountain would move quickly-- just that it would move.

    Tracy, thanks so much :)

Saying an extra prayer for all you ladies tonight :)

  7. I haven't moved a mountain but I'm pretty tight with the One who does. I am in awe of all God does in my life when I just dare to whisper yes!
