Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 340: Coming Closer to God.

Hebrews 10:22
Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart.

***************

About a week ago, my kids and I picked up 'God and Me! (2 and 3) Devotions for Girls (ages 6-9)' by Diane Cory at Lifeway Bookstore. Last year, I made books myself for us to 'homeschool' the Bible. This year, I got these (much easier and less ink...).

Today's lesson in the 2 book really stuck with me. It is about how God wants to be our friend like with Moses. He might not come down and physically stand in front of us, but He makes Himself known in other ways. And just like a friend, He wants us to talk to Him about everything, not just the bad.

(side note) Have you ever had a friend that only talked to you when he/she needed something? You still love them, but sometimes you wish for different conversation. That's how God is. He wants to hear our problems, but He also wants to hear our joys, our happiness, our accomplishments. What parent doesn't want to hear good things besides 'I WANT' all the time?

Part of the lesson today was to write some things that can draw you closer to God. Here is my 6 year old's list:

1. Pray

2. Read the Bible

3. Go to Church

4. Say Heavenly Things.

Four little things that would help us all.

*Special thanks to Katie for helping out with today's post. Mama couldn't have done it without you...*

God Bless You
