Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 317: But I Asked!

John 5: 14-15

“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.”

**********

When we want something really, really, REALLY bad we keep this verse on replay in our heads. If we ask, He will hear. And we know He hears us, and we will have it.

So when we don't get it, we get upset or frustrated.

But most of the time, we forget one key part of it-- one main element that we just don't want to see.

**That if we ask anything According to His will**

Basically, we can ask for anything we want-- we can ask for a million dollars, but if it's not according to His will, we ain't gonna get it (pardon my Southern).

That is an important snippet to remember so we don't get down-- because it's easy too.

So should we not pray for anything?

Of course not. Ask for what you want. He's not going to beat you or laugh at you. But if it's not with His will for your life-- and you get a no-- don't get upset over it (hard... I know!). It doesn't mean He's rejecting you. It means He has something FAR greater in store for you-- something you never imagined!

Because I'm listening it right now (and because I think it fits this post so well), I'm going to put Third Day's song 'Revelation' on here. I hope you have time to listen to it today. **I didn't make the video.**

God Bless You,

~Kelly

  2. Hi Kelly - great post. Prayer is always a big one for me as to whether its something God wants to hear, wants to answer, etc. Great encouragement.
