Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

Day 34: Being Thankful in the morning

Psalms 92: 1-2~ It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to the Most High.  It is good to proclaim your unfailing love in the morning, your faithfullness in the evening.

*****************

Consider this, when you wake up in the morning-- are you happy or sad?

If we really think about it, we are happy that we woke up at all--but unhappy to start the day.

We hit the snooze button about 4 times.

We just want to sleep... just a few more minutes.... just a few....

We, without enthusiam, get up, brush our teeth, get dressed, and get ready for our day-- which will be just like every other day before (man.... that sounds a bit depressing, doesn't it?)

How about we try this instead?

How about every morning when we wake up, we say, "Thank you, Jesus!"  And.. you can't thank Jesus with a sad face (it's not possible.... try... I"ll wait..... SEE!  You smiled.)  There, we've already thanked Jesus for the day AND am smiling!  Wow, and our feet haven't even hit the floor yet!!! Imagine the awesomeness we can accomplish when after we've actually brushed our teeth!?!

Then.. when we are smiling, dressed, happy... we need to take time to read our Bible.  Go to God in prayer.  Start our day off praising the Lord... and end it the same way.

What a difference it makes when we think of Jesus first and foremost in the morning!  When we start off happy, our day does seem to go better.  If we are happier, then maybe we can influence others around us to be happier... Hey, it can't hurt :)

God Bless You!
