Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

Day 69: Just Do It

Does anyone ever have a time when you find it hard to pray?

I love to pray.. I do... but sometimes, it seems like it might not be getting through. Or that I'm not as connected as other times.  I mean, I *know* it is, but still.... there is that 'feeling'.

James has great encouragement/advice on this:

James 5:13-15
Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray.  Are any of you happy?  You should sing praises.  Are any of you sick?  You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord.  Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sic, and the Lord will make you well.  And if you have committed sins, you will be forgiven.

*********

Well... that pretty much sums it up, doesn't it? lol.  PRAY at all times.

When you sad....

When you are mad....

When you are joyful....

When you are indifferent.....

When you are stressed....

When you are at your whits end....

When you really don't know what to pray for...

Just do it :)

The sincere effort will be known to God. :)

God Bless You!

Kelly

  1. 'Just do it' is great advice for me - I love to read books about how to pray but when it comes to actually praying I'm not so great!

  2. This is awesome! I tell me kids all the time that they can pray when ever they need to or want to, not just at bed time. Thanks for the reminder.

  3. Kelly, I've recently started writing my prayers as conversations with God in a prayer journal. It helps me to stay focused and it allows me to look back over what I have prayed and quickly see God's blessings.

  5. tcsoko: that's funny. I'm readying a book on following God with all of your heart right now... but am I 'really' applying it to my life?

kathi-ann, that is true.'Oh Lord Help me' (and mean it) has crossed my lips many times lol I actually do better at praying at random times instead of before bed.

Lisa, I used to have a prayer journal, but I havn't used it in a few weeks. I have no excuses. I do feel bad about it, and i do need to get back into the habit.

misty, you are right. It does help.
