Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 130: Encouragement Checklist (VII)

1 Thessalonians 5:17
Never Stop Praying.

***************************

I never noticed before that these 3 little words were in the Bible.  3 little words that have a BIG meaning.

We are still in our series of how to encourage others.  Today's verse is a big one!

We we are sad... never stop praying.

When we mad... never stop praying.

When we are tired... never stop praying.

When we are happy... never stop praying.

When things are going well.. never stop praying.

When things stink... never stop praying.

When we are on top of the world... never stop praying.

When our world falls apart.... never stop praying.

When we want to give up on someone...... never stop praying.

When we don't know what to say.... never stop praying.

When we don't know what to do....  never stop praying.

When we are blessed.... never stop praying.

In the good....

In the bad.....

In the mundane.....

In the excitement....

Never stop praying.

How can we use this to encourage someone?

*Praying in and of itself is your connection to God.  When you can't, God can.

*Praying for someone keeps them on your mind and in your thoughts.

*Praying, and telling that person you are doing it, shows them you care.

*Praying insures that you are on your best behavior (you ususually can't talk bad about someone when you talk to God.)

*Praying lets someone know you care-- and that is all the encouragement some people need.

I love this verse.  It may be my new favorite. :)

God Bless You-- and PLEASE if you need any prayers send me an email at ohthatmomagain [at] yahoo [dot] com OR leave a comment (if its unspoken, that's fine.).

  1. It IS very encouraging to know someone is praying for you. When we went through a difficult time with our daughter an elderly lady in our church came up to me and said "Pam, I pray for E--- every day. I will continue to do so as long as I live." And she meant it! Her words stuck with me to this day--14 years later!
    Excellent advice for encouragers, Kelly!
    Blessings!
