Isaiah 55:10-12
10 “The rain and snow come down from the heavens
and stay on the ground to water the earth.
They cause the grain to grow,
producing seed for the farmer
and bread for the hungry.
11 It is the same with my word.
I send it out, and it always produces fruit.
It will accomplish all I want it to,
and it will prosper everywhere I send it.

I think that is pretty powerful stuff right there.
God sends His word and it will accomplish what *HE* wants it too-- and it will prosper everywhere He sends it.
Sometimes we don't know what or why we do the things we do-- especially when we don't see 'fruit' right away, but God does. Thankfully, He sees every seed planted. Every thought... every grain implanted in someone's heart.
We might not see the 'fruit' of what we are doing for God, but He does.
It will never fall on deaf ears, and it will never come back void.
A seed has to be planted before anything can grow. Same for people turning to God. People aren't born saved. They aren't born automatically living for God. But through people planting seeds (ie parents taking their kids to church, Christian friends, a church outreach, etc) God's fruit begins to grow in that person and they begin either knowing Him or wanting to know Him.
All you can do is plant the seed and water it. God does the rest.

God does the work, but He chooses to use us to accomplish His will. He wants us to be planting some seeds. Great word, Kelly!
