Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor. 15:58

day 106: More on Anger

Proverbs 29:22
An angry man stirreth up strife, a furious man aboundeth in transgression.

***************************

An angry person never finds peace.

Ever.

An angry person by definition isn't a peaceful person.  There is something inside him/her that can rest.  Like a lion with a thorn in it's paw--- or a person with a constant toothache.  You just can't rest or have peace.

Sometimes people don't even know why they are mad-- and sometimes WE don't even know why we are mad.  There are times when I know I'm mad about 'something'- but I have no idea about what.  It's not fun times.

Can you relate?

If we ever hope to make a positive impact on others, we need to seek God's power to control our temper, even when we aren't entirely sure why we are mad.

When we are mad or way past just 'mad' and into angry your tongue (and your emotions) take control of you which can lead to all kinds of sin (as the proverb says).

What kinds of trouble can you get into when you are angry?
Well....

*Gossip
*Slander
*Fights
*Passive Aggressive Behavior  (that's me by the way....)
*"An Eye for an Eye" mentality
and even more serious...

*Murder
*And abuse (mental, physical, emotional, etc.)

See... NOTHING good comes from being angry.

If you have anger problems, God can take it away from you.  You just have to ask.  Life is too short to be angry all of the time (or most of the time).

God Bless You :)

Kelly

  2. Amen! By this (our love) shall all men know we are His disciples. It's hard to show love when we are angry. Many blessings, Kelly!
